What My Builders Taught Me About Link Building

No, these builders aren’t part time SEO’s or helpers in my company; but I am a client of theres, just like the people that we Market sites for are clients of ours. So…whats this got to do with link building and what did they teach me?

  • Don’t Hesitate - My builders are a confident bunch, walking in an out the house today without even asking if anybody is in the house first like they did yesterday. They dont know im here so just walk in and get what they need. There are corners of the web where you can get your link and leave; take the donations page on the w3c as an example. If you want a link, go for it and see what happens
  • Be Confident - When was the last time you seen a builder nervous about putting up a wall as if it was there first time, well maybe you seen one recently if it was their first time but thats not the point. If you are confident through the tools that you release and the content that you write it will show; and the links from others will show that aswell.
  • Work in a Team - Link building at best isnt done by one single person; its done by a group of people working together throwing ideas off each other and getting out there to get those links. I didnt have just 1 builder to come and build a new garden wall and patio, we have a team because the job gets done quicker, more efficiently and using everybody’s skill-set.
  • Take a Break - Although it can be annoying seeing somebody you pay good money to be lying around ‘on the job’ its sometimes good to take a break. It allows you to clear your head and have a fresh look on the situation without getting stressed and single-minded
