Well, I will be doing a report every six months or so, but this is the last one I’ll publish monthly. As of October 17th 2010, it will have officially been one year since I relaunched ViperChill. I should finish the year with just over 10,000 subscribers, which isn’t a small feat (any blogger will attest to that).

RSS Subscribers:

Glen,
Those numbers are VERY impressive! I’m only at a fraction of those and I’ve been around for about 6 months now.
Keep it up!
Jeremy
Glen,
This is outstanding. I’ve been following your blog for some time now and am very impressed by your content.
I’m trying to do the same thing over at my blog…few posts, but rich, in depth content. Signal over noise is definitely the way of the future.
Thanks for the reply Vik.
lol
Hey Vik,
Good to see you over here. I agree and I hope it works out for you
Thanks Jeremy,
I’ll do my best
Looking forward to seeing what you have cooking.
Cheers Dave,
I think it’s something you’ll enjoy! I’ll email you a copy in the next few days
Welcome back, Glen! Thanks for the report.
Thanks Andrew,
Good to see you here
Those are REALLY great numbers… and you only wrote 2 posts – that’s AMAZING bro..
Can’t wait to see what you have for us..
Hey Hector,
Yeah, I was pretty surprised with the stats myself.
Thanks for the support
Wow, very impressive. I was one of those new subscribers and was brought over from Lifehacker. Very glad I was. There is so much valuable information that I have found here, and surely more that I have not yet had a chance to read.
Can’t wait to get a peak at the software!
Safe travels, and good luck with the move!
Make that a peek, as opposed to a “peak”.
Funnily I read this, and then just made the same mistake in a comment above. I’m going to leave it haha
Hey Wes,
I appreciate you sharing how you found the site. Thanks also for the kind words.
Not long now
Your stats definitely encourage me to sharpen my writing skills and become productive in the future. I also plan to crank out at least 1,000 per post . Thanks for the motivation and I hope to be able to say the same about my site within a years time as you have!.
Hey Sam,
That’s awesome. I’ll be happy to check it out. Have an awesome weekend!
Thanks for these monthly reports, Glen, they have been really informative!
All the best on your relocation to Thailand next month. That will be a nice adventure to look forward to.
Speaking of looking forward to, can’t wait to see the new software, too
Hey Karen,
I think you’ve been one of the top commenters here for quite a while so thanks especially to you for all of the support.
I’ll make sure to give you a sneak peak
Hi Glen
This is awesome traffic report and sure you have greatly increase your subscriber. Can you tell me do you use friendsfeed, blogcatalog and all that for increasing them?.What techniques do you use other then producing killer content
Thanks For Sharing It
-Abhishek
Noticed a couple tweets hinting at drama and was curious but didn’t want to bug you! Congrats for doing a stand-up job at what you’re doing, and boldly sharing the inside view with all of us, it’s been fun to ride along with you…
~ Cheers
Nice travel plan, I have something similar on my “agenda” but firstly I have to get a steady cash flow, so I’m reading The 4HWW and blogs like this one.
I’m curious about the software you’re going to release, so maybe I won’t invest in anything ’till then. :p
Good luck with everything!
On the email update, when highlighted the title is just a “long grey box”, it doesn’t look good.
my 2c
Glen,
I’m still blown away with how much information you share. You have definitely given me a new perspective on how to go forward with my online ventures. Thanks for sharing your stats and numbers; you’ve given me inspiration to make a better life for my family by using the Internet.
Richard
Well, the drama is one thing you can’t foresee or avoid. As a young man there will always be drama as long as you have family and *especially* if there’s a woman in your life.
Can’t wait to see what this software is about. Good luck with everything.
It’s amazing that the site still pulls in great numbers without much content added in a month. I wonder what would happen if the site was dormant for a month?
I’m interested in learning more about your software, but it is doubtful I will get to use it since I’m on a Mac.
These are some really great stats. I hope that I can achieve as much as you in my first year. I am now in 7 months and it has really been great. Keep up the good work Glen
That’s interesting to see how little traffic you get from keywords compared to direct and referrals. Looking forward to seeing what this software is all about!
Great job this past month, Glen, although I must admit, I’ll be sad to see these monthly updates end.
Like everyone else, I’m very excited to see what this software is!
Stoked Glenny
I’m so proud of you man, you’ve done so well and I think you’ve given a lot of value with your posts as well. Aside from the actual tips and information, you give people motivation to keep going with their own business, and in the right type of mindset.
I’m excited for the trip, see you soon
Graeme
Super excited to see your software and feeling bad about no monthly updates.
Glen, it has been great to see this blog grow steadily. You have done such a great job here. It’s one of the few blogs that I truly recommend to everyone and read every new post on.
Forgot to add… I can’t wait to see the new software!
Interesting to see the report. You’re blog is only about 7 times bigger than mine so far
Keep up the good work.
Nice one Glen.
I wish you good luck in Thailand – do you have any plans where you want to live? I think there are nicer spots than Bangok, the island Ko Phi Phi for example (which has even Internet access).
Didn’t you get more visitors referred through Copyblogger/Problogger where you posted a guest post?
Can’t wait dude, it’s going to be such a big success!!
Good luck!
You release your last as I release my first.
Eager to get my grubby little hands on whatever software you’ve been working on. Can’t wait to try and break it.
Awesome stats, as always.
And can’t wait to see you software.
Thanks for sharing this report. Have a great day.
Killer stuff Glen, and I’m glad you got the passport cleared up! You are going to love Thailand. Have fun, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!
One variant I find really intriguing is why the avg time spent on the site is somewhat low (or at least sounds like it). I would have expected a much avg time on site especially since like you said a lot of your key posts are larger in nature in the 3-4 thousand word area.
Any ideas what is driving that based on page hits?
Hi Glenn,
Awesome stuff as always. Based on your confidence level on the new software, can’t wait to see what you are going to roll out in the coming months.
sad to see the monthly reports go… but i guess all good things must come to an end
Good luck with everything. Looking forward to the software
Thanks Vinay,
Appreciate the support. There will be a stats post in the next few days which covers the whole year
Great Stats. Thanks for sharing. It’s always nice to see stats from other blogs. It gives something to look forward to and motivates me to work harder.
Best Wishes
Mandeep Singh
Hey Mandeep,
That’s the real aim of my posts so it’s great to get that feedback.
Thanks!
Glen,
What incredible growth throughout the year! I love the in-depth content here and it’s just so interesting and captivating
Looking forward to more great posts… even though these reports were fun to follow. Have fun in Bangkok
Thanks Moon,
Great to have you with me on the journey!
Great, but what about the $1M website project?
I’ve left about 30 comments about it in the last few weeks
Hi Glenn,
I’m in Bangkok for the next few years running an education consulting project. Would love to grab a beer or a coffee.
See you later,
CG
Awesome report Glen!
Your traffic for last month was really great considering the number of posts you wrote. Your search engine traffic is also increasing significantly (which is a great thing!).
It’s glad to hear you have gotten your passport and I you will be moving to Thailand soon.
I am also awaiting your software and I know it will definitely be great (as all your work is
).
I will be missing your monthly report
Thanks so much for sharing,
-Onibalusi
Glad that the drama’s over – it’s funny, the mood and connection to writing – totally relate to that. And moving to Thailand sounds like a blast. Growing up in the Philippines myself, I definitely miss the weather (um…Idaho is a far cry, but not complaining).
Here’s to your continued success, Glenn – and very interested to find out about your software.
*hat tip*
Congratulations. The growth of this site is very impressive! Keep up the hard work.
These are great results. I look forward to seeing the software you’re developing.
Hi Glen,
I’m one of the many (silent) people who read your blog as RSS subscribers and just pop up as one of those Feedburner stats.
I’d like to say that you’ve personally inspired and taught me so much. You actually reshaped the direction of my life. Add that to your CV if you wish. Might seem stupid for an SEO site to have such an influence, but it’s the actual demonstration of the 80/20 rule that really convinced me you were onto something that could get rid of some of the stress I was putting myself through.
So, from one Southern Hemisphere resident to another, I want to say thanks -a deep, heartfelt thanks.
Hey there Glenn, congratulations for your achievement this month. Well, I just bought your ebook called “Cloud Living” and have gone through all the information. All I can said that, this is not a newbie ebook. It is just a newbie language but advance teaching style.
Well, worth the money and I’m now taking the first step to build my english blog and of course… Be my best to make a full time income with this blog. I really hope that we can contact each other in the future.
Thanks once again Glenn for your blog and this ebook.
Thanks Glen!
I noticed you dropped in the SERPs with the keyword “Viral Marketing” for first place on the second page. But a few days ago.
Cheers!
Still 4th as usual for me
Hello Glen!
Brazil fell only on Google, I checked on Google and actually USA is fourth!
Thanks!
Good luck with your Thailand experience Glen. There are a few Internet marketers lazing around over there, making good money I am sure on the Net, as you must know. Phuket island is popular so maybe you will finish up there on the beach writing your next BIG article.
Thanks for your continuing stellar output, however often you can get to it. Proves you don’t need to write every day to succeed. And I also prefer signal over noise!
Look forward to your software release. Must be good, right. Don’t forget the special extra discount for us Cloud Living folk.
More excellent numbers Glen..it just shows that your website don’t have to have a post everyday to be an big hit my friend..Thanks Bro
“TrafficColeman “Signing Off”
Glen,
Bangkok is an AMAZING city… lived there for 3 months… the food and culture and kindness of the Thai people are unparalleled. That sound like a great place to blog from. If you end up enjoying Thailand, do check out Sri Lanka… it is a similar vibe and culture in some ways.
Glen,
Best of luck with your great adventure and the software release! I’m really interested to see what you’ve been working on.
One question…you talked about Feedburner and the issues related to their erratic data (been there)…Why haven’t you switched to something like Aweber or MailChimp?
Your blog growth has been amazing! congrats and keep it up!
[...] I promised to you all in the final monthly report, today I’m releasing an analysis of the growth of this blog over the last 12 months. Although [...]
Good to know all is better on the personal side of things. Your blog is uber-useful! Absolutely one of the best the industry has. Can’t wait for your software launch!
Great results Glen!
How are you identifying the keywords which drive traffic to your blog?
Thanks, Matthew
Google Analytics
Hi!
so you travel and settle in a new place every year? that’s so cool!
I would love to make a “cloud living” as well and do what you do.
Currently, I am in Shanghai. Let me know if you come around.
Awesome, Glen!
I’ll be disappointed to see these monthly reports go, but at least you’re continuing them every 6 months.
Keep up the awesome work!
Christina
best of luck on your Thailand sojourn. I lived there two years myself and enjoyed it immensely. But I live in the Philippines now (entering my fifth year here) and find it a much more hospitable country to Americans and a much easier place to blog from … Thailand has really hosed up their visitor visa system in recent years.
I was tempted into commenting by noticing a fellow commenter or two saying they wanted to live overseas too, but needed to wait until they were making more money.
Seems bit like the cart before the horse to me. Why not move to someplace with at least 40% lower cost of living and focus on building your business from there? Many of my friends have discovered the benefits of “economy-birding” in the Philippines … it’s great place to pay off debt and build your business online. Thailand, I am sure, will work well for you in that way too … especially if you get out of Bangkok into the ‘real’ Thailand, not the Disney world with chili peppers” tourist trap.
Hi Glen,
I’ve been living in Thailand/Bangkok now for 10 years. If you want to hook up email me and I’ll give you my contact number.
regards
Brian
