How to Get 5,000+ Facebook Likes and Twitter Followers Per Day, On Autopilot

202

Just looking at the to-do-list of projects I have lined up for ViperChill is tiring enough, never mind the part about actually putting my ideas into action. One such idea I’ve discussed a lot with my friends was that of a social voting system for Tweets and Facebook shares.

Basically, all users would get a ‘score’ for how valuable a Tweet from their Twitter profile or Share on their Facebook fan page actually is. Then, they would accumulate points based on those shares or tweets they make for others. In return they could spend those points and get actions (Facebook likes / Tweets) from other users.

The whole system did have a slightly greyhat (not totally ethical) feel to it, but it was just in the idea stages, so I decided I could figure out how to make it less about marketers and more about connections in the future.

As is sometimes the case when you have valuable ideas that nobody has created before, someone does actually go ahead and turn that idea into a fully fledged product. The end result, in this case, is a website…

A website named Twiends.

Before I get into how you can use Twiends and get the most out of the service, I want to show you an example of how powerful it can be…

The Power of This Service

I was actually hoping somebody else would write about this service because it is a tad shady, and verging of the edge on the kind of topics I’ll write about. I am surprised no other large blogger (that I’m aware of) jumped on this sooner, because of how powerful this service actually is.

And, what that power actually means for the future of the internet. More on that later…

For now, I want to show you how powerful Twiends (100% free) actually is. I first of all used the service to help increase the number of followers I had on Twitter.

In a couple of years, I’ve naturally been able to attract about 6,000 followers to my page. These followers are very targeted and I get hundreds of clicks on links that I tweet. Though I’ve known how to artificially increase my Twitter account via other methods, I’ve never felt that it was really necessary, or would get me more clicks.

That being said, I did want to try Twiends on my account. The result? 5,000+ new followers in just a couple of days…and I was barely even using the service.

I also did a quick trial on my Facebook page and received 600 likes in a couple of days, without lifting a finger:

The benefit of Twiends is purely fake social proof. On my Fiverr post I predicted the death of social proof in the near future, and the popularity of Twiends – over 300,000 members – is only helping to confirm that prediction. This is not a service that you will be able to directly earn money from (unless you sell your accounts).

It can indirectly make you money though, because social proof is so powerful. I’ve mentioned a few times on this blog how showing things like your Feed count or Twitter follower account can have a huge impact on subscriber conversions.

As a quick scenario, imagine that you’re brand new to a city. You go out on your first evening and see two restaurants. One with nobody inside, and another that’s almost full of people. Which one do you go in?

Later on in the evening, you want to go and party to get a feel for the place. Two nightclubs are in the city center. One looks quiet while the other has a huge queue outside. Which one – besides queuing – would you prefer to be inside?

Just as social proof is powerful offline, it’s hugely powerful online too. Social proof can influence people to buy products, read content, share content, and subscribe to content. Pretty much what every website owner wants their visitors to do.

With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Twiends now has a #978 Alexa rank in a matter of weeks. That’s 978th most popular website on the entire internet (!).

How Twiends Works

Similar to my original idea, Twiends works on a voting and credit basis. The credit system behind Twiends is known as Seeds. You accumulate seeds every time you either watch a Youtube video, like a page on Facebook, or follow someone on Twitter.

The number of seeds you accumulate depends on how many seeds each user has chosen to give away for those specific actions. Usually you get 2 or 3 seeds for each of these actions.

With the seeds you have accumulated from this action, you can then get people to follow you on Twitter or like your page on Facebook. Because the service is so popular, you can literally start getting new fans or followers within minutes of joining the service.

How to Use Twiends

Now that I’ve explained how Twiends works, I want to say that I don’t believe the service – in it’s current form – will be around for much longer. It’s usage generally defies the TOS of numerous websites, and encourages activities on them I’m sure the respective services won’t like.

For that reason, you should a) only use this service on accounts you can deal with possibly being banned and b) utilise this now if you want to use it, because it won’t be around forever.

With one hour per day of using the service manually, you could probably get 100 to 200 seeds. Enough to get you about 100 Facebook likes of 100 Twitter followers. With the use of automation techniques I’m going to describe below, you can expect to get 3,000-10,000 seeds every single day.

Enough for between 1,500 and 5,000 new likes/followers per day.

Sounds good? Here’s what you need to do…

Step One: Create an Account

The first thing you need to do is visit Twiends and sign-up as a new user. This is 100% free to do, and takes just a few seconds.

Step Two: Create a Fake Facebook Account

I did say this was a tad shady, so you have been warned. Your fake Facebook account is going to be used to accumulate thousands of seeds per day which you can convert into likes, follows or Youtube views.

For the good of the service, I would love if you used an actual Facebook account that you personally use, but let’s be honest about how most people are using the system.

Step Three: Make your Fake Facebook Account an Admin

If you want to accumulate likes to one of your Facebook pages then you’re going to need to connect that page to Twiends. Twiends only allows you to add pages that you’re actually an admin of – to prevent people from selling followers and likes – so this is an important step.

Once you’ve done this, simply connect your Facebook page to Twiends and your Twitter account (if you want followers) and then set how many seeds you’re willing to give away for new likes and follows. I recommend that you set each to at least 3, preferably 4 seeds.

Step Four: Get 50 Free Seeds

To get a quick 50 seeds, simply sign-up to the Twiends newsletter available here once you’re logged in.

Facebook Automation

The following steps are going to help you automatically increase your seed count by utilising Facebook likes on the system. To begin, you’re going to need Firefox and an extension called iMacros (free). This extension allows you to duplicate mouse clicks on your system, so you don’t have to keep pressing the necessary buttons required to collect seeds.

If you’re using the latest version of Firefox, you’ll be able to open iMacros by selecting the iMacros icon on your browser toolbar. Make sure you restart Firefox if you don’t see this straight away. Clicking on that icon reveals a window on the left of your screen which shows some pre-recorded action scripts.

You first want to highlight “Demo-ArchivePage” then select Edit Macro on the edit tab. You’re going to want to delete everything that’s there, and replace it with the contents of this text file. Once you’ve done that, simple save and close the window.

Now, all you need to do is click on the “Play” tab, change the Max number from 3 to 999, and then select Play (Loop). You’ll now start accumulating thousands of seeds, on autopilot.

If you have any problems with this, then do ask in the comments below and I’ll help as best as I can. Some people have reported crashing when using this, with the 100% proven fix being that you need to have the Twiends window open on your computer at all times.

I didn’t experience any issues on my system, but that’s something to keep in mind.

Twitter Automation

You can also automate the gathering of seeds by following people on Twitter. Unlike the Facebook section, this is fairly slow and requires you to have a legitimate (read: not brand new) Twitter account.

All you have to do is drag this link – AutoTwitter – to your browser bookmark bar and then visit Twiends.com/twitter/all. Click on your new bookmarked link, and watch the javascript work its magic.

Thanks to Nemesis from BlackhatWorld for the code :) .

Note that I recommend you only run this twice per day to reduce the risk of your account being banned. I tried this for two weeks straight and had no issues.

My Thoughts On the Service

For me personally, I won’t be continuing to use Twiends in order to increase the followers and likes to my pages. It was an interesting and lucrative experiment, but once you reach a certain stage, it really doesn’t change much. After all, unless you’re running a business around Facebook likes and Twitter follows, you won’t directly see any money from your activities here.

That being said, I am someone who a few people follow and look up to in this industry, so perhaps my “brand protection” mentality is the one telling me to stop. If I was totally new in and industry and didn’t have any sort of following, there is a chance that I would fake this social proof, by using a service like Twiends, in order to “catch up” to other bloggers in the niche.

Right now these indicators of social proof can be very powerful, but if services like Twiends continue to operate, then the power of that social proof is only going to diminish over time.

The deception that this fake social proof brings could result in increased sales, shares, reads and subscribers for marketers utilising a service like this. Since that is what everyone is trying to do, it’s no surprise that Twiends has literally exploded in the internet marketing niche in just a couple of weeks.

If you want to get more followers and likes for the purposes of social proof, then this method is definitely for you. Rich it will make you not, popular it will make you seem…

    Hey Glen,

nice take on the Twiends (or tweinds? ;) ) service! How you just explained it, it seems like Twiends is getting in line next to (or behind) services like gotwitr.

These services may work for short sprints, but may portray you as a senseless spammer, and your account WILL be blocked.

    Thanks for the heads-up man!

I’ve never heard of GoTwitr so I’ll take a look now :)

I’ve seen people using this service for a few months now who have had no issues. The only people I have seen being reported blocked are people who abuse the Twitter automation method. I did include a warning already about this in the post :)

If Twitter ban your account due to aggressive following and unfollowing, then Twiends will ban you as well.

For Facebook, I’ve again seen no issues for the last few months. This is why I did say to be wary of which accounts you use, and don’t expect this to be working for very long.

      Appreciate the comment

Glen, one bit I don’t understand, if you have to follow these people with your legitimate account, how come your account as so few people followed?

Did you unfollow everyone after you got your followers?

Also, about the banning: do you mean you risk getting the Facebook page banned if you use this, or the fake account that you made for it banned?

I would obviously not use my main account to collect seeds. No unfollowing was done. You can collect
seeds and then distribute the benefits anywhere you want.

Haha we already had this chat over Twitter and I think I finally got it figured out. In order to get more Twitter followers, you need seeds. Glen got more seeds through his fake Facebook account.

As of June 14, Facebook’s Open Connect quit supporting Twiends, which means this is no longer an option. There are huge debates as to whether this is intentional on Facebook’s part or just an API oversight, but in the meanwhile the only alternative is to use YouTube to get more seeds. (Or you could buy them.)

Or you could prostitute your Twitter account and follow a bunch of people. But that kind of stinks, badly.

Thanks Glen, I just was confused how the system worked, I was accusing you of unfollowing people or anything (not that I even cared).

It seems the better of the two options (via Facebook) is down right now thought =(

The guys from Twiends should give some money for sending them some new users and getting the some free exposure. :) I’ve tested this system a few months ago and I can tell you that is totally worthless …you could get some likes or followers in a few days, but prepare for the real truth …1. To be unfollowed after a week ….or to have just them as inactive numbers. :)

“I don’t understand. I’ve shown how to get the followers mentioned in the headline and for me personally they haven’t disappeared at all (for 2+ weeks now)…”

Yes you’ve showed the process of how you can get “bot-like” followers that will never ask you something, retweet something, etc. I was expecting to learn on how I can get 5000+ likes / followers on autopilot but …5000+ real likes / followers. I know …maybe I want to much from something that is autopilot. I was just explaining why I got dissapointed at the end of the article. :)

As for the unfollow wait a little bit more they will start to dissapear, they just wanted those credits for you. if they don’t dissapear they are 110% inactive accounts.

If it’s not happening for every user, just skip that page.

Quick recommendation: It looks like the people giving the most seeds are placed at the top – how about cutting the code in half so that it refreshes after going through the top half of people, so you aren’t wasting time collecting 2 seeds.

Yep, I did actually think of this.

However, I don’t think the number goes much higher for very long. For e.g. after 20 quick cycles, most users will have the same seed count.

It looked like as long as the personal page is verified and an admin of a page then you’re good to go. It needs to be phone verified, not just by email, in case that is the problem.

I’d never seen Twiends before and I have to say it is a very random service. I’m not interested in automation but merely signing up gets you a small number of followers within a few minutes.

I currently believe the additional followers will be totally worthless to me but maybe, just maybe a few extra will help with the social proof.

I wonder if it will be exploited for viral marketing campaigns where they seed facebook and twitter accounts before launching the campaign.

It worked well in the beginning, but it kind of died out as people got tired of all the requests.

Just wanted to let you know that if you want to get followers on a NEW Twitter account, make sure that you send out some Tweets, get a profile picture, a custom background and follow some people BEFORE you connect it to Twiends. They have a ‘Twust’ meter, and if you fail it, you need to come back in a few days to get your account redone, leaving you losing valuable time.

    Found out the hard way.

P.S. Glen – the script keeps breaking for me 1/3 of the way through. It doesn’t want to click the “Ok, I verified, lets go to the next” all of a sudden. No clue why – the code is the same as everywhere else. Once I manually click it, the script keeps going.

          From Matt, below…

“hey guys i was having a bit of trouble with the facebook forum profile page getting stuck and you have to clear it manually so i did a bit of research and found the solution, when glen is saying the X/Y value he means the X/Y screen co-ordinates. So this is how you do it so you can actually leave it and it not getting stuck open up your imarco tab in firefox then down towards the bottom left corner you will have 3 tabs saying play, record, edit you need to click on the record tab. Then select “click mode”, now you will have 3 options you need to click the bottom option reading use X/Y position. Then click the record button and click on the button in the twiends window saying “skip (or public profile)” and then in the top left hand corner it will record the X/Y co-ordinates. Now all that is left is to re open the Demo-ArchivePage.iim and select edit macro, then click on the little binoculars up the top of the window and it will have 2 boxs the first saying search and the other saying replace you need to put the original X/Y co-ordinates in there and in the replace box put the new co-ordinates that imacro gave you. then you can either click “find next” then “replace” or just click “replace all”. hope that helps guys.”

What I found out is, 10-20% of the likes will gone in couple of days later, due to some people only wants to get people to like their pages and not helping out in return.
So it really depends on how we would like to use these services as social proof or any other reason.
For increasing traffic, it’s not bringing new traffic, at all.
Just a number of our social media pages/twitter will look nicer~ XD

    Hi Glen,

I noticed that the people are fakes too! If you read through someone’s twitter account who uses twiends, you will note that many of the “people” have the exact same profile. So the whole thing is just a shill.

Yet, I know some huge bloggers who are making money off the fact that they have the “Big” fact numbers….achieved from twiends.

I just deployed a similar but totally different thing on Triberr.

The Naked Stats (as we’re calling them) show the actual number of clicks that came in thnx to someone else retweeting your post.

So, in my tribe, I have a consistently top 2-3 great performers who bring in the most number of people to my blog. They have between 800 and 4 thousand followers on Twitter.

On the other hand, I have people who have 50 thousand + followers on twitter and they consistently bring in LOT LESS CTRs.

Internally, we call this feature No More Bullshit :-)

I dont want to leave a link in your comments section, but if you want to see it in action, search triberr blog on google, its the latest post on our blog.

    Tell me what you think.

Seriously sick stuff. Ran the script for not even an hour and I finally achieved what I’ve been struggling with for so long. Quite impressive actually.

For community sake here’s a problem I encountered. In the beginning I click “Ok I like this page,…” at the lower right corner and my likes were never verifyed. Only later did I see the actual like button in the box. After clicking on that everything worked. Then I also started to run the script and that clicks on the like button as well.

Maybe I’m the only stupid who didn’t see the like button and got frustrated but who knows maybe someone’s got the same problem.

    Thanks Glen excellent post

I’ve been using TweetAdder for a while now to add new followers to my twitter account.
This is pretty much automated but you hit the 2000 following limit pretty quickly so you need have a long term perspective.

One of my sites is about running, and with TweetAdder I could import the followers of Runners World for instance. I know there are overlapping interests so the changes that they follow me back are higher than normal.

Since my site focussing on Australia I was able so narrow the down the followers. With the program I filtered the people who had no picture and had links in their tweets.
Then narrowed it down (manually) to people who lived in Australia.

Then imported that list and started following them with various automated messages.
I recently discovered a program where you can personalize the Automated Direct Messages
    http://thesocialmediaguide.com/social_media/how-to-automatically-welcome-new-followers-on-twitter/

It is a paid service but does gives that personal automated touch.

TweetAdder also allows you to unfollow people automatically after x amount of days. You can set various parameters.

Anyway this was my long opinion… :)

The only downside to the twitter part is that many people will follow you for a seed then turn right around and unfollow you.

Wow Glen, thanks for sharing this! I have been running the script for a couple of hours and for twitter it is definitely very effective. As previous commenters have pointed out, this is mainly for fake social proof because it is quite clear that these followers are not adding much conversational value :)

Unfortunately getting facebook likes is not as easy as twitter followers. Just to make sure I my personal account will not be affected I have created a fake facebook account which already likes more than 300 other pages but my own page has only got about 10 likes back. Any hints on how to improve this ratio?

Ok, the facebook likes are now coming in thick and fast! It turns out that changing the number of seeds that you give for each like does the trick. Now I have changed it from 2 to 6 and I got 60 likes in two minutes! (This will surely get my page banned, right?)

Doubt it Douro – you could easily get that many likes for posting it to a major site, or guest writing an article, etc. You probably won’t be banned unless you spam and reduce the experience of OTHER people. Having your page liked won’t get you on the radar, I’m sure. Good luck!

I’ve actually had a look at Twiends in the past. I think the amount of followers you gain is very much tied to how many followers you already have (it only gained me about 10 or 20) – at the same time I don’t really see them as valuable. Out of those I got only 2 ended up staying around or being worth anything (in that they actually respond to my tweets in any way), and it scored me one additional Facebook follower that was worth something.

It may be a lot slower, but I prefer gaining my followers the hard way – they tend to stick around, hopefully because they find some value in being there. Also, I’m not sure that the benefits of Twiends outweigh the risks associated with using it. So after that initial experiment I’ve avoided it and similar services.

    Just my take.

Yeah, I don’t think these are meant to be followers that gain you a community but instead ‘social proof’ that what you’re saying is “listened to” by a lot of others. Essentially, it lends you credibility for when people encounter you for the first time.

This credibility might make it easier for you to gain new followers that DO communicate with you though.

Funny though, I paid a fiverr about a month back to get someone to do something like, so if nothing else, you just saved me another fiverr! (but I suspect much more!)
One question, i have receive 40-50 likes early on in the process and they have done everything up to and including the play (loop) in Facebook automation but still havent seen any additonal likes appear. How long does it take for this to translate into likes?
    Thanks again,

This is spot on and likely a step up from non-targeted traffic from Fiverr jobs. Maybe a couple hundred or so to get the thing seeded but I wouldn’t take too many more than that. Non-targeted is pretty much worthless in my book.

hey guys i was having a bit of trouble with the facebook forum profile page getting stuck and you have to clear it manually so i did a bit of research and found the solution, when glen is saying the X/Y value he means the X/Y screen co-ordinates. Now all that is left is to re open the Demo-ArchivePage.iim and select edit macro, then click on the little binoculars up the top of the window and it will have 2 boxs the first saying search and the other saying replace you need to put the original X/Y co-ordinates in there and in the replace box put the new co-ordinates that imacro gave you. then you can either click “find next” then “replace” or just click “replace all”. hope that helps guys.

I’m also thus confused on how to implement: I would connect two facebook accounts (old-real and new-fake) to the one twiends account? please help clarify the process..

Thanks for doing the research on Twiends. I had heard about it but wasn’t sure what it was all about so had bookmarked it for the future. It does sound really shady. It definitely sounds like it defeats the purpose of FB and Twitter “likes” when it comes to whether or not your content is valuable. It’s like you are lying to yourself. I’m just starting out and haven’t fully launched my site but I won’t be using this, even if it means a big zero for “likes”. :) I’d rather do it the right way and be rewarded. Great stuff! I tried it and it worked like a charm. However, retrieving thousands of seeds and likes a day did not work for me. How long should you need to run it in order to get thousands of seeds a day? I ran it for about 6 hours of time and I was getting around 800 seeds in total.

One struggle that let me do some extra monitoring and clicks:

    1. After between 4 and 8 cycles it gets stuck in some way and it does not LIKE anymore in the popup. In the upper left corner it says “Tag waiting… -1678(6)s” in a red block. Any idea what’s going on here? After restarting the whole firefox browser it will work again.

    Looking forward to a solution!

    Hi friends,

I am facing a big problem . When I try to add my fan page on Twiends, it says “this page has already been added to Twiends”.
I just want to know how to resolve this and get out of it.
    Any help heartily appreciated

The Twiends newsletter url is invalid. A quick Google search doesn’t pick it up either…what’s up with that? Did they pull it down?

That’s right – twiends will not support facebook anymore. Fb just blocked twiends as app, so there’s no chance to gain more Likes fast. You were right Glen – it won’t be around forever.
Thanks anyway for a great tip – I hope that a lot of your readers has utilized twiends :)
    Cheers!

Likely it was banned in part thanks to the great advice posted here to intentionally violate the terms of use clearly enumerated on the Twiends web site. So now people who were legitimately and naturally attempting to use the service to help boost their FaceBook reader base are screwed thanks to those here who selfishly wanted a quick and easy way to artificially boost “Like” totals for a perceived gain in “Social Proof”. I hope those of you who abused this service were at least able to turn those web sites around for huge profits based upon your Social Proof.

I’m sad that Twiends dropped Facebook. You can still find iMacro scripts to automate watching Youtube, and I’m told you can use some software (the name escapes me) to speed up the countdown of how long you have to watch each video.

Twimate is a similar service, which also is having problems with Facebook. They also let you add your website and offer seeds for people to go to it. I’m sure there are scripts out there for this site too.

Anyone know of sites that do the same thing, but offer seeds to retweet or share links? I would think there’d be a market for that, and I’d actually use it as intended, in exchange for getting retweets.

I used the twitter automation script just now and got about 50 new followers.

Also, big thanks for recommending clicky (on another post) because I wasn’t having the best time with google analytics and url builder.

For someone who knows the ins and outs of the web, you should have known better than to suggest to potentially thousands of readers that they intentionally violate the Twiends terms of use to artificially boost their Facebook “Likes”. Your suggestion, along with the actions of anyone who followed them, certainly played a role in FaceBook banning the Twiends service. If you had no idea that this would be the result then you know less about this stuff than you let on.

    Hello Glen,

After going through your complete post, I went through Twiends and this is what they have to say about themselves:

Twiends helps you grow your social network on Twitter.

You can list yourself by interests and country, and can find interesting people to follow and cool Twitter applications to use.

So, how does it work for Facebook then?

I just did tried it and I automatically earned around 10 followers. You’re totally right there Glenn, increasing your Facebook likes or followers wont matter because even if you’ll have millions of them but they won’t be able to help you make money, then that would be just like a display. No use, just for brag.

This post was made when Twiends supported Facebook, YouTube and Website hits. They stopped doing this because Facebook didn’t like incentive giving for likes so now they focus solely on Twitter.

So if you’re looking for anything other than increasing Twitter followers (who often unfollow you) then Twiends is not your service.

Twitter is not a waste of time at all. Perhaps, there are certain category that it won’t apply very well. However, valuable and informative tweets can reach your followers quickly. Of course, it depends on how responsive the followers are.
