ViperChill Updates & eBook Changes

While I like to keep most of the blog posts informative, I also like to write on a personal level and have as many operations in this company as transparent as possible. With that in mind, here are some status updates…

Reputation Management Growth

With the shift into being one of the main sites that solely focuses on Reputation Management, it’s interesting to see how others follow. As I spend a lot of time in not only brand monitoring but niche monitoring, I have been watching this industry grow on a daily basis.

More and more companies are adding ORM to their list of services, and theres a growing number of problems that people need to deal with online. I’m very excited in the fact that we are carving out our name in this niche while it steadily grows and people start to realise the importance of the service, much like when SEO really started to take off.

Our Involvement in the Industry

myviperchill.jpgAs a company, we are actually just a small fry in what is going on. Visible Technologies, who fairly recently hired oilman, received over $12m to create software relating to reputation management and social media monitoring. Radian6, who are a client of TopRank already have hundreds of clients in this industry. While we are not in the hundreds, I’m very happy with how things are going and hope to carry on with current success.

My personal plan is to be a provider of information, tools and services to help people monitor, manage and protect their brands online. Not only that, but to also help other companies with their clients who are receiving similar services. My contract at Bluesouth ends in January, I may stay for some time after that or most probably I will be making the move overseas to focus all my energy on this plan.

eBook Updates

The eBook sales are doing very well, much better than I expected with little marketing and with a product in an industry that is still fairly small compared to the likes of SEO, PPC and Social Media Marketing.

I’ve been speaking with some very knowledgeable people, one of those being Aaron Wall and will be increasing the price point to $39 in the next week or two. The main reasons are:

  • $39 gives the product an instant assumed value, for the work and knowledge currently included $19 is quite low
  • The product is going to go through many updates for free therefore the value of the product, compared to the work put in decreases immensely
  • It’s still a fair price point for those who want to have access to the information inside and not something rediculous like a few hundred dollars

Affiliate Program

At the same time as the new price point, our affiliate program is going to be properly launched and will pay 50% to all affiliates whos referrals result in a sale.

I will be setting up the system in the near future with graphics and links for everyone who signs up. There has been one affiliate who has made over $60 so far from one blog post which certainly isn’t bad and as the price goes up there is the potential for more income.

Things have been pretty hectic lately, lots of client work and work on the website with some cool tools coming out in the next few weeks. Congratulations to my buddy Lyndon for this excellent linkbait.

I’m very happy to hear that your e-book sales are going very well, Glen. You are very smart, knowledgeable and young like me (hey I’ve just turned 20).

Good luck and keep it up ;)

Are you really going to rise the price of the ebook? Announcing that is a great way to reach more sales for the book right now!. “This book is underpriced, we have these reasons, if you buy now you are getting a gangue”. It’s so good announcement strategy that I’m trying to buy it now.
