How was your Christmas Rush?

We know that a lot of readers of this blog, and a lot of visitors to this website run sites where they sell products and services online, so how did the christmas period go for you?

Its often a nice time in terms of sales, but customer service can get out of control. Check this comment sent to Markus Frind, owner of Plentoffish:
“This person is married,her husband chased me with a sword down the street. Her picture is a fake!”

People really do change character around christmas time, and if you are running an online organisation you have to be prepared. Not only do you want to test your whole system to make sure no errors are likely to occur, and not only do you want to make sure that you have the support in place if customer situations arrise, but you ALSO want to make sure you get them customers on your site to purchase rather than going somewhere else. Great offers around christmas that usually pull in the customers are things like, “Get this stocking filler free when you spend $50 or more”, “Free Delivery over Christmas”, “No Quibble Chrismas Returns”. Even if you always do these things, relating them to the season and the time make people think they are grabbing a great deal.
