affiliateSkin, My New Product, is Here!

142

affiliateskinAfter months of work, hundreds of hours of testing and a keen attention to detail, affiliateSkin is now here. affiliateSkin is a creation which came about through my frustration with solutions on the market to build affiliate websites. As many of you know, I make my living with affiliate sites, and finally became fed-up with spending hours tweaking WordPress or manually uploading HTML files in order to get a result I was happy with.

The solution to my own problem, is affiliateSkin. They say the best products are those which help you in your own work, as they’re more likely to help thousands of other people. This software has enabled me to build great looking affiliate websites in minutes, and allowed me to focus on marketing and making money. The real place your time should be spent.

Picture This Scenario

Everyone knows that the best use of your time for making money online is spent on marketing and conversions. Sadly, most people spend most of their time on building a site and tweaking the design, rather than getting around to what really matters. If you’re a beginner, the site building process is usually the most frustrating aspect. Even expert millionaire marketers spend more time on building these sites than they have to.

Imagine a solution that allowed you to create a professional looking affiliate site – in minutes – without having to touch a line of code or know anything about web design. All you do is pick your niche, add your content, and start focusing on what really matters — marketing. This solution would literally provide everything you need to track your site analytics, add a contact form, cloak links and everything else necessary to start making money online.

This is no longer some dream solution we can only hope for in the future. It’s here today; and it’s called affiliateSkin. (Yeah, this sounds corny, but you have to admit it was a powerful sentence ;) ).

If you’re already convinced this is something you would be interested in, head on over to the product site to find out more. For the next 48 hours you’ll save 30% on the usual product price.

The Key Features of affiliateSkin

Because affiliateSkin was created with my own frustrations in mind, it was very easy for me to list exactly what features I wanted in an affiliate site builder. As these were problems I faced, I have no doubt that others were facing them too. You can be sure that I’ve included exactly what you need in order to build affiliate sites which make money.

There are literally dozens of features I’m excited about in affiliateSkin, but here are some of my favourites:

  • Its powerful backend works with any HTML template (and comes with 5 designs)
  • This is a complete stand-alone software system
  • It includes 5 key on-site search engine optimisation factors to help you rank higher
  • A WYSIWYG editor for page creation. Don’t touch code, unless you want to
  • A link cloaker to mask your ugly affiliate URL’s
  • The customisable contact form you can add to your site in seconds
  • A drag-and-drop navigation bar system for total customisation

There’s so much more to the product than I’ve wrote about here, but I hope some of these features excite you.

affiliateSkin Product Tour

I was going to add a ton of screenshots to this post, but decided to create a video to show off the power of affiliateSkin, instead. You can view the video below:

If you can’t see the video, you can click here, look at screenshots of the software, or view a demo site which was created with it.

Purchase Within 48 Hours and Save 30%

    Hey guys,

I received a copy of this last week as a beta tester and I was blown away. I’m just leaving this comment to tell you a bit about my experience with affiliateSkin, since I was able to play with it these last few days.

You can set sites up in seconds, which is a huge benefit for me because it means that I can see an opportunity for an upcoming product or niche and capitalize on it immediately. AffiliateSkin has all of the tools that great marketers use to make real sales, including stunning, fast-loading themes, integrated link-cloaking tools, skillful on-page optimization for search engines, and so on.

Great job Glen, I’m really excited about this product and I hope you continue creating high-value software in the future. You’re off to an excellent start!

    Hey Glen,
I’m so proud of you man, you took a simple idea and turned it into an amazing and super functional piece of software.

I’ve witnessed the creation and got some special sneak-preview samples of Affiliate skin, and let me tell you that it’s gonna take all the hassle, coding and time-consuming work out of building affiliate sites. (Which is the reason most people avoid affiliate marketing in the first place!)

If you want to make money online through affiliate sites, firstly, get a copy of Glen’s Cloud Living, and then get this software. Don’t worry about the small investment. Make 3-4 sales and your commissions will cover the cost of the software!

    Cheers

Glen, I’ve watched the video and have a couple of questions, if you wouldn’t mind.

Is there a limit to the number of pages you can add to a site?
Can you add an Aweber or similar opt-in box?
At what point does the software check the license key? As the main site is down at the moment, that’s a bit of a concern if the software calls home after installation (or during installation, come to that).
Is it possible to add side menus/navigation or is there a choice of templates?
Can we design our own templates to use with the software?
Thanks Glen – looks awesome! :)

      1. No, there is no limit to the number of pages you can create

      2. Yes, you can

      3. It checks the license on installation. not after installation :)

      4. There are 6 templates that come with affiliateSkin. It can power any kind of HTML template, which includes those with sidebars

      5. Yes, that’s one of the main features of the product.

      Thanks for the questions!

A big piece of my frustration with affiliate marketing are the technical aspects of getting WP to work and look the way I want it to. Affiliate Skin will be a HEGE time saver for me!
Right now I honestly dread putting a new site up – because sometimes it takes me literally hours. But with Affiliate Skin, I can now focus on content and sharing the products I think will truly make a difference. Sounds very sweet!

Just a quick question, and please dont think of me badly for asking…its a bit of a stupid question really.
But what is the difference between this piece of software and just using WordPress and the free plugins for SEO/Contact Forms etc..?
Perhaps I’m missing something from watching the video, but I cant really see the reason it is $100 when everything there can be managed for free…

      Hey James,

It’s not a stupid question. Here’s how I answered it recently:

“I found a great niche recently and realized the angle I was using to make money could be spread out over a lot more industries. I had never found such an untapped opportunity, so I needed to build a lot of sites, fast. I found myself doing the same monotonous process of setting up WordPress, finding a theme that is relevant to the site, installing and tweaking all of my plugins, and then removing all of the code I don’t need (categories, comments, meta login data, etc)…

“I knew that there had to be a better way to set up websites like this which are simple, yet look good, and focused on conversions. And that’s when the idea for Affiliate Skin came about.

“With enough time, you can create the same kind of site with WordPress (and a lot of plugins) as you can with Affiliate Skin, but that’s like saying that with enough time, you can blog by uploading a static html template everytime you want a new post to go live. So yes, I think speed is key here, as it helps people focus on what matters – marketing.”

Looks like its not a Worpress vs AffiliateSkin debate, same as its not a Farrari vs Bmw debate.
The purposes are different – If you are a technical person and don’t mind spending hours building templates and configuring things, then WordPress might be for you… I personally prefer Farrari.

      Hi Roger,

      Exactly. As my partner explained:

It is vital that people understand affiliateskin is a turn-key solution for affiliates and not blogs and is aimed at the non technical market, with premium support, something non-technical people would always rather choose the paid for option, they hate struggling.

      * Premium support (non-technical folks love the help)
      * Its not a competitor for WP, its targeting a different market.
      * It’s a turn-key solution, no need for installing/configuring and debugging WP plugins

Of course, this isn’t just for non-technical people. I use it on multiple sites myself and I know how to program / build websites.

James, I haven’t used Affiliate Skin yet, but I can tell you that I have literally spent 3+ hours just getting one WP (thesis) site to look the way I want it to. If I value my time at even just $50/hour, Affiliate Skin will pay for itself with just one site. Plus, I think you can get a 30% discount for the next 40ish hours.
If you want an authority site with many pages, that may require a WP site (is that correct, Glen?), but otherwise for affiliate sites, this looks great. (Just what the doctor ordered!) =)

      Hi Kate,

Thanks for your comments. You can build as many pages as you want on your affiliateSkin site. If you’re building lots, I would recommend setting up a sitemap which links to all of your pages, just like I would do with WordPress.

Right, this would be used instead of WordPress. You can think of this like a mini-Wordpress, streamlined for a specific purpose. It could, in theory, replace your WordPress, but it doesn’t have all of the features and plugins that WordPress has, so replacing WP depends on what you intend to do with your site (allow comments? build a forum? etc.)

Glen, be sure to correct me if I’m wrong!

James, I don’t think it’s totally right to compare them. After all, WordPress was built for blogging and this isn’t.

As I said earlier, with enough time, you could tweak a site to use all of these features and be happy with the end result. But, after all that time, you have to do it again and again for new sites. Then again, I’m biased ;)

It would be great to work with you.

I think it depends on your intention. Are you planning to create a few mini sites or basic affiliate sites? This looks like the best option I’ve seen.

Looks like you’ve got a great launch going on here :)
There’s just one doubt for me right now before I buy it.

Seeing as you’ve recently pushed the importance of more (quality) content for SEO purposes, is it possible to have one page where it is just formatted as a blog front page with sub pages as posts? Or is this a feature that might be coming? In short, I would like to have one page with sub-pages mostly for seo-purposes, not copywriting.

      Hi Jonas,

You can put as much content as you want on the homepage. It doesn’t matter if you’re using affiliateSkin or WordPress for “quality” content.

Right now you would have to style it like that yourself (adding dates, and links to other posts from the homepage). A blog look wasn’t really the aim for the software though.

There are a ton of features coming, but nothing like a blog homepage will be planned. At least not anytime soon unless it’s a popular request.

    Hey Glen

How is affiliateskin install’d? Mysql or File database?

I think the most time used to setup a wordpress affiliate site is to create the mysql database, and creating the content. If you have made a few wordpress sites, you fast get a favorite wordpress theme.

Does it use ping to get the site fast index through automatic?

      Hi Kevin,

It runs on a MySQL database. It literally takes 2 minutes (watch the installation video in the UserGuide.pdf where I show it all).

You do get a favourite, but you still have to tweak them all massively — especially when it comes to indexing.

As far as pinging goes, I always run my sites through pingoat.com which indexes them very fast. Whether I use WordPress or affiliateSkin :)

      I hope that helps!

What I want to know is, does this software run over the web, or does it get installed on your home machine? If the latter, does it run on Mac? Also, for forms such as the contact form, does it hook up the behind-the-scenes stuff to process the form data, or do I still have to set that up with my host?

The terms “skin” and “plug-in” imply sitting on top of other software. Does affiliateSkin require other software to run? On the flip side, does it work well with other software like an HTML editor?

    Thanks

      Hi Randy

The way “skin” is used here means that it applies the outer shell (skin) for your affiliate site, and all you do is add the content.

It doesn’t require any other software to run. It has a built in HTML editor :)

    Glen,

Looks really interesting. As a programmer, I love finding (& used to code) solutions that saved time with every use. Why waste time doing the same task(s) over & over again?

I’ll be honest–I simply don’t have the cash flow to test affiliate Skin but I will probably end up purchasing it at a later time.

Congrats on a software launch! You should be proud!

Look nice and clean. But apart from the nice link cloaking feature, what can affiliateskin do that, for instance, Drupal can’t? Am I missing something?

I haven’t used Drupal much so I can’t say too much about the differences (the last I used it was about 2 years ago, so I don’t want to make any claims).

The whole point of the system is speed (everything in one place) and simplicity (no installing plugins, tweaking HTML).

I can personally build my affiliate sites in minutes now – which I can’t do with Drupal – and of course for people with very limited technical skills (I don’t think drupal is that user friendly, or very pretty – you would definitely have to tweak themes) then it’s a whole different ball game.

      Good question.

I set up my first minisite in April right after I bought cloud living and I’m slowly but surely getting better at IM and right now I’m pulling in about 200/month. I love the way you explain things in your ebooks, it gives me this burst of energy like internet marketing and life doesn’t have to be difficult at all. Theres so much hope and effortlessness and patience in your writing, I’m so glad I came across your site 6 months ago.

Congrats Glen. It looks like Kajabi without the drawbacks. The IM world hated Kajabi but thought it was a good idea. I think if you could add even more functionality to it (see what Kajabi does) and build that in to your product and relaunch it to the IM crowd at $499, you might be able to retire. :)

Are you planning of making this a tool to manage multiple sites at once? That would make it even more useful. For me, the real chore is in having to setup multiple sites with a brand new installation each time and each with its own login. That is what’s bothering me about WP. From what I see from the video, it seems “the skin” still requires different installs each time. Am I wrong?

    Well, Glen.
I have to admit, I don’t really have much time to check this out in full… I’m leaving for your homeland country in an hour and a half…

BUT I went ahead and grabbed this deal anyway. This is what I figure—I’m going to get a good price getting it today, AND you have a 30-day money-back guarantee. AND I know you provide great service on sites which you offer for FREE (like viperchill.com) so I KNOW you’re going to offer great service with this product.

So although I’m not a big fan of many (other) products which offer you money-back guarantees and say “you have nothing to lose” (and then make it next to impossible to get your money back), I know you I genuinely have nothing to lose on your AffiliateSkin launch.

Just bought it, and looking forward to it.

Congrats on the product, and I hope it works out well for you!

    All the best!

    Glen,
This looks like a fantastic product I was not expecting something as useful as this. There is definitely a need for this although personally it is not something i’d be interested since I don’t build mini sites.

I think your unlimited license is really underpriced being only 50% more than a single domain license. You will be missing out on the up sell because the majority will be wanting more than 1 site anyway so they would happily pay more. I think a key selling point would be a quick ROI because of time saving etc which can justify a reason for charging more.

Not out of the box, but you can either

      a) Use a two-column theme you find online

      b) add a table into your page which splits the page in two. This can be done in seconds.

Could I ask you 2 quick questions about it? Hope it’s OK. Here goes:
QUESTION 1—is this product also designed to build SQUEEZE PAGES/ LANDING
SITES? I bought a WP plugin a few days ago by Squeeze Themes for squeeze pages, and want to know if I can just put that away for now.
Question 2: Do you offer any deals to buy your Cloud Living Product to

    Glen,

I’m new to blogging and everything online. I’m a total, complete newbie who knows practically nothing about setting up WordPress, let alone affiliate sites. My blog is an example of my ignorance.
One of my goals is to learn how to set up affiliate sites. I watched the video and like what I see. Is this something that I could use? I don’t know HTML or CSS or PHP. With limited knowledge like mine can I use this product effectively?
Where are some good resources to learn how the entire process of building niche/affiliate sites works? I’ve been following Pat Flynn with his Niche Site Duel and have been taking notes. Anywhere else I can find the details to be successful? I guess my real question is what do I need to know? I don’t know what I don’t know.
Thank you for any help you can lend.

      Hey Josh,

I think you would be the perfect customer for affiliateSkin. You don’t *ever* have to touch HTML / CSS or PHP. I think
the greatest thing is that if you ever do want to use these things, you can. You can edit the HTML and CSS for any
template or page, but not unless you want to.

If you look over the blog archives I think you’ll find some great info.

Yes, that´s correct. I have read all the posts now and I can see that I am not alone asking for the possibilities to build squeezepages. I think you agree that one good strategy to build a list is to collect names from a squeezepage before sending them to the affiliate site. I see a lot of people are missing on this. Or maybe they don´t care, they are in the game for quick money.

I have a question: once you create the site with Affiliate Skin, what’s the uploading process onto the server? Does AffiliateSkin create the directories in the server, upload the files, and link them all together automatically? Or, (if I’ve created five pages) do I have to create five sub folders on the server and then upload each page to the respective folder, and then add in the appropriate links?

    Thanks!

I have a question for those of you who have been using AffiliateSkin – how do your sites look, compared to the demo site in the info about the product, and do you have to do any site maintenance once the site is up?

I’m sort of on the fence about buying the unlimited license for this or going with a supersite strategy, but I think that AffiliateSkin may be a great way to get a good looking site up quickly, and then just focus on linking rather than posting, building, and maintaining the main site.

    So, what say you?
(And Glen, the AffiliateSkin product looks super great – I learned about you through Pat Flynn and really respect what you’re doing. One day maybe I’ll be doing a fraction of what you are!)

In fact, do you actually exist? And if so, what proof do we have? I mean, apart from the article in The Guardian article (I’m guessing the journo never met you), a grainy photo, and your say-so.

Are we all, in fact, just the unwitting victims of a big internet marketing hoax?

I’ve been wanting to ask this, but why do you do affiliate marketing? I know a lot of successful bloggers are big affiliate marketers, but at the same time, they also say to focus on building things you truly care about/are interested in. I’ve been tempted to get into affiliate marketing myself, but the thought of making all these sites & spending the effort promoting products that aren’t yours & that you don’t really care about is kind of unappealing to me…so I don’t understand why so many people who otherwise promote quality content are into AM? =/ I know it’s a money-maker, but surely there are good alternatives to make great passive income AND be building something you’re truly invested in?

Not that your affiliate sites have cheap content I’m sure, but in general it seems to me like affiliate marketing floods the web with even more – for lack of a better word – unnecessary sites.

    Thanks in advance! =)

Hey, I'm Glen. In February 2009 I quit my full-time job and have made my living from the internet ever since. Having previously worked as the Social Media Manager for the likes of Nissan and Hewlett Packard, I took my skills and successfully applied them to my own projects.
